95th Annual Washington Parish Free Fair
1 Fair Picure - 2

The 95th annual Washington Parish Free Fair was held October 14-18, 2008. This year’s theme was "Down Home Celebration."

Adding Color to Your Landscape
Many cool season bedding plants can be used now in the home landscape. Here are a few suggestions.

Around in the Yard - Brown Patch
Brown Patch occurs in the late spring and early fall, with patches ranging from one foot to several.

Planting vegetables in November
The selection of vegetables that can be planted in the home gardens is becoming very limited. Some vegetables to plant are: collards, brussel sprouts (transplants), cabbage (transplants), Swiss chard, spinach, kale, mustard, carrots and turnips.

Fruit Orchard
Now is the time you might want to consider planting low maintenance fruit crops like blueberries, brambles, figs, persimmons, loquats and some pear varieties.
